I am that person. I am the Intelligent Choice for sheriff. I have a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice, over 40 years of experience in law enforcement, and am committed to the proposition of keeping the citizens of this county safe. I served as your sheriff for fifteen years and with your support, I look forward to the opportunity to serve you again.

    In my previous service as your sheriff, the Lake County Sheriffs office was considered to be one of the most accomplished law enforcement agencies in the State of Florida. Many of our accomplishments are listed on this website and I encourage you to review them. Those achievements were possible due to the efforts of the team of professional and dedicated men and women that served with me. Together, we can reclaim those high standards and raise the bar even higher.

    Lake County is a wonderful community and I sincerely want to protect your quality of life here. In our world today, the crime rate is increasing in numbers and in intensity. The seriousness of drug-related crimes, home invasions, burglaries, theft, and other major crimes can't be minimized. Lake County must have a strong, qualified leader to protect its citizens. I am ready, once again, to meet that challenge.

    As your sheriff, I will protect you and I will protect your tax dollars. The sheriff's spending has nearly doubled within the last three years Overspending will be stopped! I have proven that I can manage a successful and efficient agency with sound fiscal management principles and advance the technical and law enforcement capabilities at the same time.

    I truly care about the citizens of Lake County. I am committed to keeping you safe, keeping your children safe, and keeping peace in Lake County. I am the Intelligent Choice for your sheriff and respectfully ask for your support and your VOTE on AUGUST 26, 2008.
